PUMA has dressed Formula 1 for two decades, and the Tazon is the cheapest honest way into that look. The moulded heel and the leather overlays are lifted straight from their racing silhouettes, and at sixty-odd dollars nobody is pretending this is a technical shoe. It runs slightly narrow and the cushioning is firm, so it is a shoe for standing around a garage or an airport, not for a half marathon. Buy it if he watches the races and wants something with the right lineage on his feet. Skip it if he needs one pair to do everything, because this is not the pair.
