Philips Hue Smart Plug, 2-Pack

The smart plug is the unglamorous piece that makes a Hue setup actually work. Plenty of lamps take odd bulbs, or have a shade that hides a colour bulb entirely, or are simply nicer than anything you would want to swap — the plug sidesteps all of that by switching the whole fixture. Two in a pack is the right number, because the second one always finds a use within a week. It needs the Hue bridge, like most of the ecosystem, so this is an addition for someone already in rather than a way in. It does on-off only, not dimming or colour, which is the honest limitation.
