CeraVe's version is a moisturiser first, so it replaces a step rather than adding one — that is why it gets used. It is a chemical sunscreen, so it sits invisibly rather than leaving the white cast mineral formulas do. The scent is faintly medicinal and the finish is matte to the point of dry on some skin. At fifteen dollars there is no sensible argument against it.
